Kenidee Snider - Female Employee Spotlight of March

Employee name: Kenidee Snider
Role at company: Team Lead, Calgary
Direct quote from the employee: "If you ain't first, you're last." - Ricky Bobby

What motivates you to wake up and go to work?
Definitely has to be the people I work with! So many amazing and hard-working individuals at Clintar, without them I think my job would be more tricky on a day-to-day basis.

What do you do at our company?
In the winter, I clear snow with all my fellow comrades, and in the summer, I maintain the grass and tend to the weeds, making our properties gorgeous.

What has been your favorite project so far?
I’m not involved in a lot of projects we do because I am usually on the maintenance side, but planting trees and plants for one of the biggest Costco’s in North America was definitely something to be proud of.

What's something most people don't know about you?
My older sister and I share the same birthday!

How do you balance your career and your family/personal life?
A former employer gave me great advice, that was to never take your work home with you at the end of the day. I leave my work issues or simply my day once I get in my car, balancing it all just means not thinking about it or acknowledging it until the next shift.

What advice would you give to other woman in the industry?
Take it slow, I was brand new and didn’t know a thing, I also thought I was super weak. Over time I grew more muscle and could do things without asking others by giving myself time to adapt. You should learn quality and skills before you learn to be fast.

What does a typical day of work look like for you?
Snow removal and summer days are all different, but typically in the winter I grab my shovel and clear as much snow as my body will let me. As for the summer, I maintain the grass on our properties and make the beds all pretty!

What are three words you would use to describe Clintar?
Persistent, Rewarding, Quality.

What do you find most rewarding/challenging about your role?
The most rewarding thing is looking back at the work you’ve done and knowing you’ve done a great job. The most challenging is convincing yourself that the work is good enough and knowing when to move on.

If given a chance, who would you be for a day?
Eren Jaeger from Attack on Titan. Tatakae!!

If you could interview one person (dead or alive) who would it be and why?
I would interview my great baba bunio (grandma for anyone who isn’t Ukrainian!). I’d want to know how hard it was growing up, various topics about her life and asking how she feels about being responsible for so many lives eventually being created.

What would you like to be famous for?
Making the best pasta salad ever.

What inspires/motivates you?
My sister inspires me to keep trucking forward, even if it means breaking your ankle in the process! (just kidding, don’t break your bones).
